CVS gets on the move for Honeypot!

It’s walking boots at the ready as a group of intrepid CVS employees, friends and family, prepare to take part in a sponsored walk to raise money for vulnerable children. The group of 15 will be to heading into the beautiful Staffordshire countryside to walk 8 miles along the Cannock Chase Circular Walk, in aid of Honeypot Children’s Charity.

CVS is a longstanding supporter of Honeypot, a wonderful charity dedicated to working with thousands of children from across the UK. Most of the children are young carers who juggle school and growing up whilst performing a surrogate adult role at home. Many of them care for a chronically or terminally ill loved one, or have a parent with drug, alcohol or mental health problems.

The charity offers much needed respite breaks at its special property in the New Forest, Honeypot House, plus a wider programme of long-term support. The Honeypot Playbus offers an outreach programme and visits communities where Honeypot children live. The charity also sends birthday cards and Christmas presents, which are often the only ones the children will receive.

The walkers are aiming to raise over £250 in sponsorship for the charity, which will fund a child's first time holiday to Honeypot House.

The sponsored walk is taking place on Saturday 1st September 2012. To offer your support by sponsoring the walkers, please visit their JustGiving page.

This year, Honeypot will help over 1000 children to have a chance at childhood again.  For more information about Honeypot Children's Charity, visit their website: www.honeypot.org.uk
